Long Course Weekend Tenby 2024

The Long Course Weekend in Tenby is a unique and challenging multisport festival that takes place annually in Pembrokeshire, Wales. Scheduled for 21st – 23rd June 2024, it’s a celebration of endurance sports that attracts over 11,000 athletes and 35,000 supporters from around the world. Here’s what the event entails:

Swim (Friday, 21st June): The weekend kicks off with The Wales Swim, a choice of a 2.4-mile or 1.2-mile open-water swim in the sea.

Bike (Saturday, 22nd June): Day two features The Wales Sportive, with cyclists choosing between 112-mile, 70-mile, or 42-mile courses through the beautiful Pembrokeshire Coast National Park.

Run (Sunday, 23rd June): The final day concludes with The Wales Marathon, Half Marathon, 10k, and 5k runs, all finishing amid the vibrant atmosphere of Tenby.

Participants can mix and match distances across the three disciplines or go long in each to earn the coveted fourth medal. It’s an event that caters to athletes of all abilities, from professionals to those looking to complete their first long-distance event. The Long Course Weekend is not just a test of physical endurance but also a celebration of the athletes’ spirit and the community’s support.

A wonderful guest house close to the beach and the town. we stayed for four nights in a comfortable, nicely furnished, double on-suite room. Breakfast is served to your room in a hamper. You choose your breakfast the night before and leave the request at reception. There is a wide choice including hot sandwiches (bacon, egg, sausage or a combination). The owner is extremely friendly and helpful. WiFi is free and very useable. The main South Beach, pay and display car park is just across the road and it costs £10.00 a day to park. On street parking is very limited and seldom available.
Happy to recommend this guest house for a stay ion Tenby.

Both my partner and I enjoyed our stay. The room was very clean and presentable. The idea of having a breakfast hamper sent to our room was a stroke of genius!! If you are planning a visit to Tenby, The Southcliff is highly recommended!! Well done to Jeremy and his team!!

We stayed at the Southcliff in July as part of a road trip through Wales. It’s a fantastic, traditional B and B. I couldn’t fault anything. It’s situated around a minutes walk from the beach and no more than five minutes into the centre with the bars, restaurants and shops. The breakfast was amazing. You order the day before and it comes to your room in the morning in a basket full or hot sandwiches, cereal, toast, tea, coffee and juice. There’s a big selection to choose from and it’s still hot when it arrives. The rooms are spotless, with comfortable beds and plenty of room for two. Jeremy is a lovely host and ensures that everything is just how you want it. We like to go to different places on trips as there are so many places to see but we will definitely be back here. Beautiful B and B in a beautiful part of the UK.

We stayed here for four nights. Extremely clean, towels are changed every day. Really comfortable bed and pillows suited us just right. Jeremy was extremely welcoming and lovely to chat to. He gave us ideas for trips and places to eat. Would recommend The Harbour pub and brew house. This is so convenient for south beach and the town centre. It took us a while to realise that there is some completely free parking when you can find a space. We recommend nearby Colby Woodland gardens. A lovely walk through to Amroth beach and it has the most amazing cakes. There are some beautiful beaches nearby. We really liked Manorbier, about half hour west. Beaches are really safe for children, blue flag and very shallow.

Lovely room with plenty of space and comfortable bed. Breakfast served in a hamper to your room which is an excellent idea. There’s a lovely small bar area as well. Hosts were welcoming and helpful. Highly recommended.

What a lovely place to stay in Tenby Wales, I would highly recommend if you are looking for a get away from the busy city life. The room was perfect and just what we needed. The owner of the hotel was really nice and friendly and a great bar man too! I absolutely loved the breakfast hamper idea! I have a gluten intolerance and they done their best to make sure I had breakfast options which was very much appreciated. The hotel is a few minutes walk to the beach and the views are very beautiful!

We really enjoyed our two nights here and will definitely be coming back next year.

Stayed in room 6 which was spotlessly clean. Friendly welcome when we arrived. Breakfast brought to our room every morning in a picnic basket which was a nice idea. Excellent location. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. Thank you. Highly recommended.

Lovely place to stay. The guesthouse & room was immaculate! We had a peaceful 4 night stay in a twin room. A lovely quiet stay. Breakfast was amazing!!!
The hosts were lovely, helpful and very kind. We had everything we needed.
Again spotless! and facilities all there.
I would recommend here to anyone who enjoys a quiet break.
We could not fault anything.
If only Tenby itself was as half as peaceful as this gem ;-)

Clean and very well-appointed room. Comfortable beds. Kind and welcoming owners. They prepare breakfast to order and offer a unique room service with a home delivery service. The hotel is centrally located and just 5 minutes from the sea. Beautiful!
